| Dogs move to round two of state playoffs
|

The Thomson High Bulldogs are among one of the three teams from Region 3-AAA still alive in the state playoffs. Thomson defeated the previously unbeaten Jackson Red Devils 28-14 on their home turf last Saturday night to advance to the second-round of the playoffs this week.

| Nine Bulldogs named to All-Region teams |

Nine Thomson High School players have received prestigious honors this week from area football coaches selecting them to All-Region teams. Seven of the local players were named to First Team All-Region, while two of them were named to Second Team All-Region.

| Festival Off Main is Dec. 4-7 |
Thomson's sixth annual Festival Off Main is just around the corner just in time to get in the Christmas spirit and start holiday shopping.

| Thomson High theater students to present Schoolhouse Rock Jr. Thursday and Friday |
The Thomson High School theater class is using its talents to broaden the horizons of local elementary students. For the first time, the elementary schools are going to the high school for a field trip to watch the musical performance Schoolhouse Rock Jr. The elementary performances took place Monday and Tuesday mornings and will continue on Friday morning. A separate performance for the middle school students also will be on Friday.

The Thomson Bulldogs turned the tables on the old seeding game with a big 28-14 victory over Jackson in round one of the state playoffs. Whether it wipes away the frustration of previous early round exits for the Bulldogs can be debated, but it looked like the coaches and players were enjoying themselves Saturday night.
